Here’s a list of majors I’ve been officially enrolled in at some point:

I eventually settled on a double major in Economics and Neuroscience with a minor in Political Science, graduating with a 3.83 GPA. I then took a sharp pivot and applied to master’s programs in AI, eventually deciding on Duke University.

The brain is the original Neural Network, and I still find myself using it as a framework for problem solving to this day. During my neuroscience studies I had a fascination with sleep and its effect on learning and memory. I think machines need to learn to mimic sleep to close the gap between themselves and humans in the learning domain.

Economics isn't a subject, its a way of thinking. You should thoroughly investigate incentive mechanisms, analyze data carefully for confounding variables, and rely on data, not heuristics. I find this mindset invaluable in the domain of data science and machine learning.
